One of the Strongest Quarters in McAfee History

Today we announced our Q2 2008 financial results to Wall Street and delivered one of the strongest quarters in the company’s history. McAfee is outgrowing other players in the IT market as well as our competition and we continue to take market share. Our strategy is working— we had a great second quarter and we’re positioning the company for future growth through strategic investments.
Some of the highlights from the quarter include:
— Revenue of $397 million–an all time high for McAfee
— Double digit performance growth across all our business segments
— McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO) 4 is our most successful product upgrade ever
— Closed 21 corporate deals over $1 million and launched 68 new or enhanced consumer online partnerships during the quarter
— Total Protection for Endpoint was a major driver in many of our competitive displacements
— Total Protection for consumers had a 100 percent increase in sales year-over-year
I’m also pleased to share that we announced our agreement to acquire privately-owned Reconnex, a leading data loss prevention company with unique technology that learns and adapts to automate the ongoing protection of data.
With this acquisition McAfee is redefining the entire data protection market by bringing together the leader in data loss prevention without our comprehensive portfolio of data protection technologies. This combination will provide a rich solution set featuring encryption, data loss prevention, forensics, data mining and archiving. All road-mapped to be managed with a single agent and single console through McAfee ePO.
Reconnex, coupled with our current data protection solutions, gives us the network and endpoint presence that will allow us to leapfrog all other data protection vendors and reinforces our position as the largest dedicated security provider.
Cheers,
Dave
