McAfee channel partners are accustom to regular email newsletters and I would like to extend the latest to the social web. Below, you’ll find a feature highlighting the top reasons to partner with McAfee in 2010, provided by Fernando Quintero, VP of Channels for the Americas at McAfee.

Fernando’s 2009 Top Reasons to Partner with McAfee in 2010

2009 was a very exciting year for McAfee! Throughout the year, McAfee continued to strengthen its position as the largest dedicated security vendor by committing to the success of the channel. To take a closer look at the year’s accomplishments, we have identified the most noteworthy accomplishments that have enabled McAfee to deliver on its promise. These are the top five reasons to partner with McAfee as we move into 2010!

Top 5

  • McAfee simply has the best solutions and has been recognized multiple times over the year as a leader in security by some of the most reputable industry analysts, such as Forrester, NSS, and Gartner. When you sell McAfee and package these with your value add and services, your customer knows you are a trusted security advisor! To learn more about McAfee in the news, click here.

  • McAfee continues to expand our partners’ product portfolio by acquiring Solidcore Systems, Inc. and MX Logic. These include real time compliance enforcement technology and MSSP solutions! The acquisition reinforces MacAfee’s strategy around integration and proving value to our partners and mutual customers. Beyond this, McAfee has over 80 Security Innovation Alliance partners that integrate with our management platform and allow you to further add value to your customers.

  • McAfee launched its first ever StarTrac training series for our Elite and Premier Partners! These multi-day sales and technical instructor lead training were held at the McAfee Plano office and provided detailed product and sales training on ePO, system endpoint, network protection, data protection, governance, risk and compliance. By the end of the training partners were able to articulate McAfee’s value, key differentiators, and successfully sell McAfee solutions. To learn more on how you can participate in our 2010 StarTrac training programs, please contact your Channel Account Manager or send an email to napartnermarketing@mcafee.com.

  • McAfee engaged with over a thousand partner representatives, coast to coast, to learn more about their business needs and how McAfee can provide value to their organizations. We also went on the road in 2009, with our Winning in Security Seminar series! We met with over 325 partners where they walked armed with the knowledge of how to uncover mid-market opportunities, up-sell, and the tools and resources available to help close deals. They also learned how to grow their McAfee business and utilize programs benefits, promotions, and resources available to them. Stay tuned to the McAfee Partner Perspective to find a 2010 Winning in Security Seminar series located near you!

  • And, last but not least, we are excited to convey McAfee has declared 2010 to be the “Year of the Partner”. To jump start the year a little early, we have already launched the following programs.

- New Deal Protection Policy

- New Incumbency Advantage Program

- Enhanced Deal Registration Product Eligibility

- Channel Playbook

- Rules of Engagement

- StarTrac Training Program – 2010 dates coming soon!

- Winning in Security Seminar Series

As we reflect on the many accomplishments and changes we made in 2009, it will be our goal to make 2010 an even more exciting year for our partners! We appreciate your support and commitment and look forward to our continued partnership during 2010.

As we say goodbye to 2009, McAfee and the entire channel team wish you and your families a happy holiday season and a prosperous new year!
